This major exhibition features large-scale details from the manuscript and explains the background to the Book of Kells and other manuscripts such as the Book of Armagh and the Book of Durrow.
The main chamber of the Old Library is the Long Room, filled with 200,000 of the library’s oldest books in oak bookcases. The current exhibition in the Long Room is The Body in the Library – the great detectives from 1841 to 1941 – which includes Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
