New Irish-speaking social network website
Launched last week in An Chultúrlann, Belfast, www.talkirish.com allows teachers, speakers and learners of Irish to get together to chat in Irish.
While most fluent speakers of Irish are based in Ireland, the learners are scattered across the world – in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. That is why 'Talk Irish' set up this brand new social network site, where teachers, speakers and learners of Irish get together to talk Irish.
'Talk Irish' is a start-up company based in Belfast which produces Irish language learning materials and games for all levels, and aims to connect Irish speakers, teachers and learners across the world.
The website’s word-a-day podcast and flashcard service will help you to kick-start your Irish Language learning journey. After that you can check out the site’s free audio dictionary.
There’s a vocabulary-building game and quizzes, and you can share your own audio, documents or images in the libraries, or browse lots of interesting Irish language content.
For hints and tips on learning Irish or finding a class near you, you can browse the discussion forums, where you can make friends with other Irish language learners across the world and share your own learning tips. Visit www.talkirish.com.
