Special broadband rates for students
Students can now get mobile broadband for 13 euro a month, following a deal between O2 and HEAnet (National Education and Research Network).
A special student rate for mobile broadband has been announced by O2, in conjunction with HEAnet, which allows students to have access to broadband for as little as €13 per month with 10GB of usage.
The offer enables students to gain access to broadband connectivity from anywhere at any time from O2, and is being rolled out to all participating HEAnet Institutions. HEAnet provides networking services to all Irish universities, institutes of technology and other higher education and research organisations.
Students availing of the special rate can opt for a 12-month contract, which costs €13 per month with a 10GB data allowance, saving the student €12 per month. Alternatively, a nine-month contract is available for €15 per month, with 5GB data allowance, enabling a saving of €15 per month. Prices include VAT.
“This is a very exciting service for our students, who in the modern environment need ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to the internet,” said John Boland, CEO of HEAnet
Students can sign up to the discounted broadband offer in their local O2 retail store or on campus. For more details visit www.o2.ie/HEAnet
