Students’ haircuts should be less than “blade three”
An all-boys diocesan secondary school in Limerick has imposed 2-day suspensions on students whose hairstyles did not comply with school rules.
According to the school rules at St Munchin's secondary school, Limerick, boys should not have their hair cut shorter than a “blade three” length. Recently, the school suspended students whose hair was shaved tighter than the required length.
Predictably, the students involved were not happy with the school's action.
“There are lads who have their hair down their backs and it’s dirty and greasy and nothing is said. Others use blonde streaks. And this seems to be allowed. I have been suspended for my short hair. My hair is very neat and tidy and I’m not doing anyone any harm. And my hair costs money to keep it neat,” one student said.
A parent said it did not "make sense to suspend students for something so minor.”
A spokesman for St Munchin’s College said the school discussed disciplinary matters with parents only. He added, however, that "the rules are sent to the parents and pupils at the start of the year and they state quite clearly what is and is not acceptable.” (Source: Irish Examiner)

Surely the headline is misleading - it should read ‘no less’ or ‘at least’
