ASTI Annual Education Conference

Teachers from all over the country will attend next Saturday’s conference organised by the Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI).

EVENT: ASTI Education Conference 2008
THEME: “Securing the Future for Our Young People”
DATE: 8 November 2008, 10am - 4pm
VENUE: Gresham Hotel, Dublin.

The conference will examine two key national objectives

  • to develop a knowledge-based economy and to achieve social inclusion;
  • to explore the role of second-level schools and teachers in meeting these ambitious goals. 

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Rory O’Donnell, Director of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC). Other speakers will include Olavi Arra, Senior Education Consultant, Trade Union of Education, Finland, and John White, General Secretary, ASTI.
