Events to celebrate International Biodiversity Day

On 22 May, a series of awareness-raising events are being organised in Co Leitrim by the Greenbox

To celebrate International Biodiversity Day on May 22nd, a series of awareness-raising events are being organised in Co Leitrim by the Greenbox Ecotourism Project in conjunction with the Organic Centre, Rossinver. Seminar on Climate Change and Biodiversity Organic Centre, Rossinver 10am – 1pm. Admission free (excluding lunch). Speakers include Prof Mike Jones, Head of School of Botany, Trinity College, and Dr. Jennifer Hanafin, Met Eireann. 100% certified organic and very local lunch and tour of Organic Centre. Guided Peatland Walk European Geopark at the Cuilcagh Mountain Park and Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court, Co Fermanagh. Hosted by Clare Somerville A bus will run from the Organic Centre. Tour and bus FREE to Greenbox network members, €8 for all others. Bus leaves the Organic Centre at 3pm and arrives in the Geopark at 3.45pm. Bus leaves Geopark at 5pm. Will drop people off in the Organic Centre and also in Manorhamilton, Co Leitrim, where the next event begins. Pre-booking for bus and tour highly recommended.
